SUMMARY

In 2004, Mick Garris (Sleepwalkers) created a collection of short films for TV. His brilliant idea was to reunite some of the great names in horror movies (and the oldest among them for the most part) for a kind of last stand, where all transgressions are permitted and no holds barred. Masters of Horror is the revenge of the old pros, who were much more sensitive than some of the more cynical directors that have followed in their footsteps. The art of the grotesque in Masters of Horror has an odd ring to it in 2017, yet it is more topical than ever. Because, if you ask yourself, is it the buffoon (the filmmaker) enjoying it who is the most grotesque, or is it the crazy, absurd world that they have been inspired by? (Wilfried Jude).
